Second Prize!
Thanks for those who gave me their feedback below. I am happy to let you know that I won second prize at the Philadelphia Reading Series Open Poetry Competition! (Hurray!) I ended up reading You Lie and Unsinkable. I have also submitted Comfortably Numb and Piece of Damascus (this one for you, Ahmad) to the Poetry.com contest. Let’s see what’ll come of it…
sorry to burst your bubble… but… http://www.eliteskills.com/writing_scams/poetry.com.scam.php>>type in “poetry.com scam” in google and you’ll get loads of results. i was played by the evil forces of poetry.com until they started asking for money in a book i was sure wouldn’t come to exist. it’s no fun finding out you’re great poetry has been completely and utterly had.>>otherwise, super congrats on the philli contest 🙂

Katy, don’t worry about my bubble; it burst a while ago. But thanks for the heads up; I do appreciate it. Now that you mention it, I believe I had read a similar article in Harper’s a while ago. I’ll try to dig it up. Such a pity, these scams…
